Dr. Kevin Allemagne, LMFT, LISW
Dr. Kevin Allemagne is a highly skilled clinical psychotherapist with a passion for fostering excellence in the next generation of mental health professionals. Combined with years of direct patient care, teaching, supervision, and administration, Dr. Allemagne brings not only technical proficiency and practical experience, but also genuine compassion and commitment to his supervisory role.
As a clinical supervisor, Dr. Allemagne is known for creating a supportive and growth-oriented environment where developing therapists feel safe, challenged, and encouraged. His supervision style blends evidence-based guidance with individualized mentorship, empowering trainees to build confidence, deepen clinical insight, and provide exceptional care to their patients. Dr. Allemagne emphasizes the importance of integrating concepts of self-of-the-therapist into supervisee’s clinical work and case conceptualization. Dr. Allemagne completed a Ph.D. in psychology with specialization in family therapy, along with completing two master’s degrees in child and family studies and clinical social work. Dr. Allemagne is a licensed martial and family therapist and a licensed independent social worker, and provides clinical supervision for individuals seeking licensure as MFTs, professional counselors, and social workers. Dr. Allemagne completed additional advanced training in providing clinical supervision, and is an Approved Supervisor and Clinical Fellow through the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy. Dr. Allemagne has worked as a mental health professor, served as the program director for graduate mental health training programs, and served as the clinical director and supervisor for healthcare systems. Most recently, Dr. Allemagne completed seven years of serving on the Iowa Board of Behavioral Science (now the Iowa Board of Behavioral Health Professionals), where four of those years he served as Chair. Dr. Allemagne has received numerous awards for his work in educating, training, and supervising mental health clinicians, and was nominated for a national award for his work in supervising and mentoring marriage and family therapy students.
