We have several therapist EMDR trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the resolution of mental health symptoms that arise from adverse life experiences. Adverse experiences can overwhelm a person’s ability to cope and can have a lasting negative impact on mental and physical health. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. EMDR utilizes your mind’s natural problem solving and coping abilities such as those experienced during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. This process allows you to reprocess adverse events and break up negative messages and feelings in order to see past experiences from a different, less distressing perspective.
